In the early summer of 1945, an army nursing sister, Judy King , was given the daunting assignment of transporting a dying Sikh officer across India from Poona to Amritsar in the Punjab. The train journey was some 1,500 miles, taking two nights and two days. (Music: Mathias's Viva Regina )
