The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) or just the Ninja Turtles are four fictioal bipedal intelligent humanoid talking turtles. They who practice ninjutsu and various Japanese martial arts. They are guided by their sensei Splinter, a bipedal humanoid talking intelligent rat.
Named after European Renaissance artists, their names are Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raphael. Each turtle carry a different weapon.
Created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, they debuted as a comic in May 1984. Later, various comics, cartoons, video games and films have been produced. Action figures have also been released.
