PenaVega was born in Maui, Hawaii to actor-musicians Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega. Her father is of Afro-Dominican, Spanish and Venezuelan descent and Her mother is of Colombian, English and French descent. She has braids in her hair and triangle athletic body at age 2.
