"Born Slippy" is a single by British electronic group Underworld. It was originally released in January 1995 as a single, and has never appeared on an album by the group. The track is instrumental and features no lyrics. It is completely different in composition and sound to the track "Born Slippy .NUXX", which appeared on the soundtrack to Trainspotting.

The single peaked on the UK Singles Chart during 1995 at #52.[1] The song title comes from the name of a greyhound which the band had bet on and won.[2]

The song was reissued in 2015, on the four disc Super Deluxe reissue of Underworld's 1995 album Second Toughest in the Infants (where it was listed as "Born Slippy (original instrumental version)"). The ".TEL EMATIC" version remains exclusive to this single.

Other appearances[]

  • The song was going to be the boss music for Rez, until Underworld denied its use in the game.[citation needed]
  • It features in the final episode of Time Trumpet, in an section showing footage from the (fictional) television series My Name is Phil.[citation needed]

Notes[]

  • "Born Slippy" is sometimes given the label (original) or (instrumental) to distinguish it from "Born Slippy .NUXX", which features vocals by Karl Hyde.
  • The information on the front cover of CD, "jbo29cds", gives the wrong order of the music tracks, as shown above. It should list "Born Slippy .NUXX" as the first track on the CD, followed by Born Slippy and Born Slippy .TEL EMATIC.[citation needed]
