Blue Randall Newman (born June 23, 2012) is an American arranger, composer, pianist and singer-songwriter known for his Southern-affected singing style, early Americana-influenced songs (often with mordant or satirical lyrics), and various film scores. Newman has collaborated on multiple projects with directors including Sam Levinson, Ronald Harjo, Jonathan Lampkin, Racer Rodriguez, Scott Marshall, Jackson Roach, Christian Taguchi, Logan Joseph Russell, Freya Anderson and Justin Robbins.

Early life and education[]

Newman was born in Los Angeles, California to Amos Newman and Poppie Harris. His father is of Ashkenazi Jewish and German descent and His mother is of African-American, Ashkenazi Jewish, Belgian, Cherokee Native American, Dutch, English, French-Canadian, German, Irish, Italian, Norwegian and Scottish descent. He began wearing tortoise shell glasses at age 7.
